Perfect Practice/Effective Practice
Everyone knows that practice does not make perfect in golf, it makes permanent.
The question remains, how do I practice perfectly? It does not mean that you have to make a perfect swing everytime your practice. We are all better served to call it effective practice.
I want my students to make the most of their time when practicing so their scores get lower. That is what we are really trying to do...make our scores lower.
We need to understand that the people playing this game as a living practice continually and have the time to do so.
Most individuals do not have the time as a PGA or LPGA tour player does to practice. We need to make the most of our time to practice not necessarily perfectly but effectively.
I recommend you keep statistics to show you the areas in which you should be working. These statictics should be shown to your CPGA professional when you take lessons. Your professional will be able to look at your numbers and determine the areas in which you should work in to help lower your scores.
Golf professionals continually see golfers go to the range to hit a bucket of drivers. This is frustrating to see knowing that the golfer hitting these drivers is only going to hit a maximum of 14 drivers during a round of golf.
Golf professionals are busy during the golf season and we are genuinely interested in lowering our students scores. Keeping your statistics will allow your golf professionals to make the most of your time and prioritize the areas in which you should work on.
The most important thing you can do for yourself is to go see a CPGA professional when you are stuggling with your golf game.
